Project background
Mine sites run many system and device types with data spread across networks and platforms. Conventional gateways only forward traffic and cannot carry local processing, intelligent computation or unified management.
An extensible connectivity mechanism was needed across differing devices, systems and network zones.
Cleansing, aggregation, rules and AI inference had to run on the field side to reduce dependence on the upstream platform.
Data, policies, configuration and status had to move under control between edge and center.
